Receiving an award makes you feel good and there are plenty of awards in our industry. This is only a partial list of awards.The Agatha – Named in honor of Agatha Christie. It is awarded at the Malice Domestic Conference.

The Anthony – Named in honor of Anthony Boucher, a writer, reviewer, and editor. It is awarded at Bouchercon.

The Claymore – Awarded at Killer Nashville, this award is named after the dagger.

The Daphne – Named in honor of Daphne Du Maurier, author of Rebecca and other books.  The award is presented at the Romance Writer’s of America National Conference.

The Derringer – Named after the pocket pistol, the Derringer is awarded by the Short Mystery Fiction Society.

The Edgars – Named after Edgar Allen Poe, the award is presented by the Mystery Writers of America at their annual gala.

The IPPY – An award recognizing excellence in independent publishing, which includes independent, university, and self-published. Presented at the yearly awards ceremony

The Lefty  – Awarded at the Left Coast Crime Conference.

The Macavity – Named for the “mystery cat” of T. S. Eliot and is awarded by Mystery Readers International

The Next Generation Indie Book Award – The largest international award program for independent publishers. The not-for-profit award is award by IBA and presented at the yearly awards ceremony.

The Shamus – The award is presented by the Private Eye Writers of America

The Silver Falchion – Awarded at Killer Nashville, this award is named after a knife.
