Sarah Stone of Alamo Search and Rescue

dog demonstration – Want to volunteer???

Sarah Stone and Dog
Sarah and Merci

We are excited to have Sarah Stone of Alamo Area Search and Rescue and her dog, Merci, join us for our September meeting. Sarah will be speaking to our group about her five years of SAR experience in the central Texas area and discussing the three types of dogs used in SAR and the types of cases they are called to work on by law enforcement. Along with her presentation and video, she will be doing  a demonstration (INSIDE!) of some of their techniques. She asks everyone to bring lots of questions!

Sarah, a native Texan lived many places, including Tehran, Iran, but eventually called San Antonio her home for 41 years.  After retiring, she and her husband moved to Spring Branch, Texas and into their country dream home.

She has held many jobs over the years, but her last and most rewarding was director of a pregnancy center.  Yet when asked if she could do her life all over again, she said she would have liked to become a K-9 Police woman.  Knowing it was too late to become a police woman  in this life, she chose to explore search and rescue. Now, she’s living her dream.

Please join us, and feel to bring your questions and notepads to the meeting!
